Aspassia Papadoperaki is a person of sound experience. Her sculpture is sound and solid and so is her theoretical approach. That is why she seeks out those stable geometric relationships in the structure of Domenikos Theotokopoulos' compositions, which elevate the design substrate of his works to a comprehensible system of numerical propositions. Her quest facilitates not only the understanding of a profoundly important and creative instance of painting, but also the awareness of what great arts owes to the breadth of the artist's field of knowledge, that is to a deeper discourse, independently, of course, of the index of consciousness that abets the creator's refuge in the absolute truths of numbers and the objective beauty of harmonious measurements.
